ENCOURAGING CALENDAR

01 First Half: Visual Illustration

For Innovative Design, my personal project while being a part of the upper-tier Blue Team was to design a hypothetical calendar with quotes centering on self-growth and self-love to remind me of the lessons I’ve learned throughout the year.

I decided to make a calendar as my interpersonal project because 2018 was a year of humbleness and humility - a time that encouraged me to reflect and to savor each and every gratitude that I had, have, and will have. It’s a gift to not only my family, friends, and those-to-come, but also to myself. I began with six quotes that empowers me, and made the visuals mainly with Adobe Photoshop and my Wacom tablet. Afterwards, I used Adobe Illustrator to create the calendar layout and combine the typography.

The second half of the calendar is animated as seen below because I wanted to bring life to this product.

02 Second Half: Animation

Introducing the second half of the calendar. My steps were more muddled and sporadic than my approach towards the first half. Instead of quotes -> design, I flipped it where I made the animation first, and thought of a quote which then thought of a composition. Programs I used were primarily: Adobe Animate and then Adobe Illustrator.
